Join Kate Punnett, sustainable florist and the founder of The August Press for a pressing and pressed flower art workshop.
This popular workshop will be divided into 2 parts.
In the first part we will break down individual characteristics of flowers and learn how to press them successfully. We will explore variables such as moisture, shape and time and will experience the alchemy of bringing a fresh live flower into its pressed forever state.
Each participant will be given a small fresh bouquet to press. Bring your own press, purchase one of my professional presses or bring some large heavy books. My own presses will be available with a workshop discount.
The second part of this workshop looks at already pressed flowers and how to create art with them. You will create an 8x10" finished pressed floral piece from pressed flowers from my collection. Various coloured backgrounds will be available to create your art on.
Refreshments and snacks will be provided!

Please bring a flower press to the workshop. It can be one of your own or even a large book you are able to put strong weight on at home.
